Olive Oil as a Gift: Gift Boxes with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Olive oil is the gift that never ends up in a drawer. Anyone who gives a gift box of extra virgin olive oil is not giving a decorative piece, but something that comes to the table every day — and reminds the recipient of the giver every time it is used. We are a family business from Pieria at the foot of Mount Olympus and bottle our single-variety Koroneiki oil ourselves. For gifts we offer three selections that differ in size and occasion.

Which gift box suits which occasion?

The three boxes do not differ in the quality of the oil — it is the same single-variety Koroneiki from the same harvest in all of them — but in the number and size of the bottles. That makes the choice simple:

If you want to give just one bottle, choose the 1-litre bottle or the 500-ml bottle. For your own stock there is the bulk pack with 3 to 6 litres.

The three gift boxes

What is in every box

All bottles contain 100 % single-variety Koroneiki extra virgin olive oil, cold extracted from olives grown in Pieria on Mount Olympus. Single-variety means: no blending with other varieties, no bought-in oil. The oil is intensely fruity, has a distinct pungency in the finish and a low acidity — qualities that are valued in professional kitchens and that you can explain when giving it as a gift.

The bottles are made of dark glass, because light is the fastest enemy of olive oil. So anyone who gives a box is not giving only oil, but also the packaging that keeps it fresh.

Gift box or bulk pack — the difference

A gift box is designed for effect: several smaller bottles that you put on the table and can pass on. A bulk pack is designed for consumption: as many litres per euro as possible, stored in the kitchen cupboard. If you are not sure which intention lies behind it, the Ultimate Combination is the compromise — large bottles for cooking, small ones for giving away or for the table.

Shipping and delivery

We ship from Germany. Shipping is free from an order value of €50; below that the usual costs apply, which you will see at checkout. Bottles are packed to withstand breakage; if glass shatters in the parcel, we replace it.

Frequently asked questions about the olive oil gift box

Does an olive oil gift box make sense?

Yes, if the recipient likes cooking. Olive oil is consumed, but it is not a disposable item: a good bottle is kept and used with every meal. Unlike wine, olive oil does not have to match the occasion — it matches every meal.

Why do the boxes contain three bottles of the same variety and not three varieties?

Because we work single-variety. Our oil is 100 % Koroneiki; we do not blend in other varieties just to make a box look more colourful. Three bottles here therefore mean three occasions, not three flavours — one for the kitchen, one for the table, one to pass on.

How long does the olive oil keep?

Unopened at least until the best-before date stated on the bottle, usually 18 to 24 months after bottling. What matters is storage: dark, cool, sealed, away from the hob. After opening, the bottle is best used within two to three months — which is why the 500-ml bottles are more practical for gifts than a large one.

Can I order several boxes at once?

Yes. From €50 the shipping is waived, and several boxes can be combined in one order — for example one for the family and two as small gifts.
